Kurz gesagt: Die Bol-App sammelt keine Daten über dich. Alles, was du in der App tust, bleibt auf deinem Gerät: keine Konten, keine Analyse-Tools, kein Tracking. Die einzige Ausnahme ist die freiwillige Warteliste auf dieser Website (siehe Punkt 10).

1. Welche Daten die App erhebt

Keine. Die Bol-App erhebt, speichert oder überträgt keinerlei personenbezogene Daten an uns oder an Dritte. Für die App betreiben wir keine Server, die deine Daten empfangen, und wir haben zu keinem Zeitpunkt Zugriff auf deine Lerndaten. Trägst du dich auf dieser Website freiwillig in die Warteliste ein, gilt Punkt 10.

2. Daten, die auf deinem Gerät bleiben

Damit die App funktioniert, speichert Bol deinen Fortschritt ausschließlich lokal auf deinem Gerät über Apples UserDefaults. Dazu gehören:

  • dein gewählter Profilname und Avatar,
  • deine XP, deine Tagesserie (Streak) und dein Tagesziel,
  • welche Lektionen du abgeschlossen und welche Wörter du gelernt oder gespeichert hast,
  • deine Einstellungen (z. B. Soundeffekte, Haptik, Erinnerungen).

Diese Informationen verlassen dein Gerät nicht. Sie werden nicht hochgeladen, nicht synchronisiert und nicht mit uns oder Dritten geteilt.

3. Keine Konten, keine Anmeldung

Du brauchst weder E-Mail-Adresse noch Passwort. Es gibt keine Registrierung und keine Benutzerkonten.

4. Keine Analyse, keine Werbung, keine Drittanbieter-SDKs

Bol enthält keine Analyse- oder Tracking-Werkzeuge, keine Werbenetzwerke und keine Drittanbieter-SDKs, die Daten sammeln. Es werden keine Cookies oder Werbe-IDs verwendet.

5. Aussprache, Sprachausgabe & Mikrofon

Die Aussprache der Wörter und Phrasen wird über vorab erzeugte, muttersprachliche Neural-Stimmen wiedergegeben, die in der App gebündelt sind. Fehlt eine Aufnahme, nutzt Bol die geräteinterne Text-to-Speech-Funktion von Apple. Bol sendet hierfür keine Aufnahmen oder Texte an eigene Server.

In der freiwilligen Aussprache-Übung nimmt Bol kurz dein Mikrofon auf, um deine Aussprache mit der Spracherkennung von Apple zu prüfen. Wo dein Gerät es unterstützt, geschieht das direkt auf dem Gerät; andernfalls verarbeitet Apple die Aufnahme zur Erkennung (siehe Apples Datenschutzerklärung). Bol speichert keine Aufnahmen und sendet sie an keine eigenen Server. Du kannst die Mikrofon-Berechtigung jederzeit in den iOS-Einstellungen widerrufen.

6. In-App-Käufe

Bol bietet einen einmaligen In-App-Kauf, der alle Inhalte freischaltet (kein Abo). Der Kauf wird vollständig über den App Store und dein Apple-ID-Konto abgewickelt. Bol erhält oder speichert keine Zahlungsdaten (etwa Kreditkartennummern). Über Apples StoreKit wird auf deinem Gerät lediglich gespeichert, ob du freigeschaltet hast. Wie Apple Zahlungen verarbeitet, steht in der Datenschutzerklärung von Apple.

7. Löschen deiner Daten

Da alles lokal gespeichert ist, hast du die volle Kontrolle: Wenn du Bol von deinem Gerät löschst, werden alle App-Daten (Fortschritt, XP, Streak, gelernte Wörter und Profil) vollständig und unwiderruflich entfernt. Einen früheren Kauf kannst du jederzeit kostenlos über „Käufe wiederherstellen" zurückholen.

8. Datenschutz von Kindern

Bol ist für ein allgemeines Publikum gedacht und für die Nutzung durch alle Altersgruppen geeignet. Da die App keinerlei Daten erhebt oder überträgt, werden auch von Kindern keine personenbezogenen Daten gesammelt. Wir bitten wissentlich keine Kinder um persönliche Informationen.

9. Änderungen dieser Erklärung

Sollte sich die Funktionsweise der App ändern, aktualisieren wir diese Datenschutzerklärung und passen das Datum „Zuletzt aktualisiert" oben an.

10. Warteliste auf dieser Website

Diese Website bietet eine freiwillige Warteliste, damit wir dich zum Start von Bol benachrichtigen können. Trägst du dich ein, speichern wir nur die von dir angegebene E-Mail-Adresse und den Zeitpunkt der Anmeldung. Diese Daten liegen bei unserem Hosting-Anbieter Cloudflare und werden ausschließlich für die einmalige Benachrichtigung zum Start verwendet. Wir geben sie nicht an Dritte weiter und nutzen sie nicht für Werbung. Rechtsgrundlage ist deine Einwilligung (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO). Du kannst sie jederzeit widerrufen und deine Löschung unter info@bol-app.com verlangen; spätestens nach dem Start löschen wir die Liste.

In short: The Bol app does not collect any data about you. Everything you do in the app stays on your device: no accounts, no analytics, no tracking. The only exception is the optional waitlist on this website (see point 10).

1. What data the app collects

None. The Bol app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us or to third parties. For the app, we operate no servers that receive your data, and we never have access to your learning data. If you join the optional waitlist on this website, see point 10.

2. Data that stays on your device

So that the app works, Bol stores your progress locally on your device only, using Apple's UserDefaults. This includes:

  • your chosen profile name and avatar,
  • your XP, your daily streak, and your daily goal,
  • which lessons you have completed and which words you have learned or saved,
  • your settings (e.g. sound effects, haptics, reminders).

This information never leaves your device. It is not uploaded, not synced, and not shared with us or anyone else.

3. No accounts, no sign-up

You need neither an email address nor a password. There is no registration and there are no user accounts.

4. No analytics, no ads, no third-party SDKs

Bol contains no analytics or tracking tools, no advertising networks, and no third-party SDKs that collect data. No cookies or advertising identifiers are used.

5. Pronunciation, speech & microphone

Word and phrase pronunciation is played from pre-generated, native-speaker neural voices bundled in the app. If a recording is missing, Bol falls back to Apple's on-device text-to-speech. Bol does not send any recordings or text to its own servers for this.

In the optional pronunciation exercise, Bol briefly records your microphone to check your pronunciation using Apple's speech recognition. Where your device supports it, this happens on-device; otherwise Apple processes the audio for recognition (see Apple's privacy policy). Bol stores no recordings and sends them to no servers of its own. You can revoke the microphone permission at any time in iOS Settings.

6. In-app purchases

Bol offers a single one-time in-app purchase that unlocks all content (no subscription). The purchase is handled entirely by the App Store and your Apple ID. Bol does not receive or store any payment data (such as card numbers). Using Apple's StoreKit, your device only records whether you have unlocked. See Apple's privacy policy for how payments are processed.

7. Deleting your data

Because everything is stored locally, you are in full control: if you delete Bol from your device, all app data (progress, XP, streak, learned words, and profile) is completely and irreversibly removed. You can restore a previous purchase at any time, free of charge, via "Restore purchases".

8. Children's privacy

Bol is intended for a general audience and is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects and transmits no data whatsoever, no personal data is collected from children either. We do not knowingly request personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If the way the app works changes, we will update this privacy policy and revise the "Last updated" date above.

10. Waitlist on this website

This website offers an optional waitlist so we can notify you when Bol launches. If you sign up, we store only the email address you provide and the time of sign-up. This data is held by our hosting provider Cloudflare and is used solely to notify you once, at launch. We do not share it with third parties and do not use it for advertising. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time and request deletion at info@bol-app.com; we delete the list after launch at the latest.
